Dr. Rahman received the Morgan’s Outstanding Faculty Award (2021-2022) for exemplifying Excellence in Instruction or Pedagogical Innovation. This prestigious award recognizes his contributions in improving the instructional approaches by infusing active and collaborative learning to teach introductory CS courses, mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students in research, designing and developing new courses and programs and coordinating several CS student training and outreach programs, such as Google/Facebook Engineering in Residence (EIR) program, Google Tech Exchange program, etc.
Due to his outstanding contributions in teaching, research and service, Dr. Rahman also previously received the 2020 Life Science IP Innovation Award and 2019 Instructional Innovator of the Year award on behalf of the Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) at MSU, the Dean’s Faculty Award for Excellence in Service in 2019 and the Dean’s Faculty Award for Excellence in Research in 2017 from the School of Computer, Mathematical and Natural Sciences (SCMNS) at MSU.
